Saturn's Superstorm
Astronomers have recently found more information about
the superstorm that hovers over Saturn's north pole that was discovered in
2008. They have discovered that it is not only bigger than storms on earth, but
that it dwarfs even our largest storms. It has an eye 2,000km in diameter, 30
times bigger than an earth hurricane, and it has winds that reach up to
500km/hr, twice the speed of a category 5 hurricane.

Wow, I'm glad we don't live on Saturn! I can't even imagine how frightening that storm would be.
ReplyDeleteAnother NOS theme is that science is subject to debate and tentative because in the article, it says that scientists are still not sure what powers the storm and how it could be that huge. Also, the role of motivation and curiosity is another NOS theme because every since scientists found the storm on Saturn in 2008, they have been trying to find new information about the storm.
