Whole Walnuts and Their Extracted Oil Improve Cardiovascular Disease Risk
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have evidence that eating whole walnuts, including their oils, helps improve heart health and improves risk for cardiovascular disease. They took a sample of fifteen people and gave them 85 grams of whole walnuts. They then tested the responses of the participants before the treatment, 30 minutes after, one, two, four, and six hours after the original treatment. The walnuts were able to maintain blood vessel function after a meal. Below is the link for this article.

I think its interesting that something so simple as a walnut can give health benefits. The article said they contain an unusual combination of protein, fiber, vitamins, and that they are dairy and gluten free.
In this article, it talks about the benefits of eating walnuts. It states that "walnuts have highest levels of popyphenolic antioxidants than any other common edible nuts. 100 g of walnuts contain 13541 µmol TE (Trolex equivalents) of oxidant radical absorbance capacity (ORAC)" and that walnuts have omega-3 fatty acids that are good to slim the chance of high blood pressure and such.

This is really interesting! i read another article that listed some other benefits of walnuts and walnut oil. Walnuts are very high in omega-3 fatty acids, which make up part of your brain cells. Eating walnuts has been linked to improving concentration, memory, and learning.
