Origin of Life

There are many theories on how life originated. Many of these are religious and I respect all of them. One of the commonly scientifically accepted views is that life started in very hot seas of water. Lately, a new theory was proposed and is being investigated. This theory is that brinicles, which are hollow tubes of ice under pack ice in very cold water could harbor the conditions needed for life to form. Very little is known about these brinicles but scientists think that this could also lead to a connection to the possibility of life on very cold and ice-covered planets.

The first theme I thought of was that science is tentative and up for debate. We may never actually know how life started and there will always be new theories and hypotheses to explain the phenomena of our world. Another is the role of skepticism. If we all just accepted the first explanation for how life came about, these new ideas would never be formed.
