Deep-brain stimulation helps Parkisons disease patients?

This article is about how deep-brain stimulation has been proven to improve the quality of life and the ability of muscle control in Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s disease is a disorder where people have a hard time controlling their muscles their muscles. Parkinson’s disease gradually gets worse the longer you have it. As you age with the disease it will cause the involuntary movements and the loss of ability to move will occur more often. Deep-brain stimulation (DBS) can help. This surgery will send a electrical signal to the problem areas to regulate the electrical signals between cells.

This is a picture of the wire that they put in the brain to regulate electrical signals. See how it goes far into the brain? This is why it is called deep-brain stimulation.

  1. I thought your article was very interesting and your picture was really shocking at how far they can go in somebodies brain. The link below explains in detail some of the reasons people get Parkinson's disease, and the role things such as genetics, life style, and age can affect getting Parkinsons disease.
