Canada's Ice is Shrinking Rapidly
A team of scientists from Utrecht University in the Netherlands have been conducting studies on the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and their finding are frightening. They estimate that by 2100, the glacier will have lost 12.4 trillion tons of ice, which accounts for 18 percent of the current volume. This could possibly raise global ocean levels by 35 millimeters. Researchers warn that these effects could be irreversible.

  1. Great Article!
For your N. O. S. Themes I would also put

Science is collaberative because it took many years of testing global warming levels to make future predictions.

Science is subject to debate and tentative because global warming is not widely accepted and many people believe it is a natural phase the earth is going through.

  2. This article from NASA shows how the rate of global warming for the next century is predicted to be 20 times greater than before.

The average temperature now is higher than any time in the last 1000 years. They have used air bubbles in glaciers to estimate temperatures from up to 800000 years ago.
